CELEBRATE HOMECOMING IN SPRING GROVE

Spring Grove will host the decennial Homecoming Celebration on June 21-25, 2017. Every ten years, Spring Grove alumni and friends come together to catch up, have fun and spend time exploring and reconnecting with the community. This celebration will take the place of the annual Syttende Mai celebration, which is always held in May. Heritage favorites that are standard fare at Syttende Mai will be part of a larger schedule of events that are set to begin Wednesday, June 21 and run through Sunday, June 25, 2017.

Volunteers Needed!
The Spring Grove Homecoming committee is seeking volunteers to staff the Syttende Mai Hus during the weekend's events. The Syttende Mai Hus will serve as a hub for information, wayfinding and registrations for all things Homecoming related. Volunteers can choose 2-hour time slots on Wednesday from 3-8pm, Thursday from 2-6pm, Friday from 10am-6pm, and Saturday 10am to 6pm; plan on work in groups of 2-3 people each shift. Please call Jean Ellingson at 507-498-5114 to pick your shift!

Parking for Saturday: Parking will be at a premium on Saturday when all of the people are in town for the memorial’s dedication as well as the parade. When you arrive in town, please look for the signs for parking lots we are securing around town – by Farmers Coop Elevator,  Gundersen Tweeten Care Center, the football field, the Fest Building and other places here and there. We will have buses and horsedrawn wagons to move people from the parking areas to the downtown and school areas. Trinity Lutheran Church’s parking lot will be designated for handicap parking only that day – only those with a handicap permit will be allowed in that lot.
