Spring grove Economic Development Authority (EDA)
This historic building in downtown Spring Grove was revitalized and repurposed to house our local Chamber of Commerce! Visit their website for more info! springgroveareachamber.com
Additionally, the Spring Grove EDA utilizes the Chamber of Commerce building for director operations, meetings, and chamber member support services and learning opportunities. The EDA also assists the Chamber in efforts to support the community with free events and tourism campaigns. The Chamber of Commerce was awarded 2023 Fix Up Fund dollars for their beautiful facade project on Main Street.
As of August 2025, a new business incentive program is currently being developed, in which facade improvements could be applied for!
What is the EDA and what do they do?
The Spring Grove EDA is a volunteer board of directors including elected City officials, local citizens, and business representatives that aims to create and maintain a pro-business environment, a high quality of life, and a strong sense of community. The EDA considers ways to attract and retain businesses in Spring Grove, assist businesses with startup and expansion, and enable the quality commercial and industrial development and/or rehabilitation of areas within the community. The EDA offers a wide variety of programs and services, including:
Financing. The Spring Grove EDA offers gap financing for business startup or expansion through the revolving loan fund program. If you’re interested in learning more about the program and applying for financing, contact an EDA director or click here to review the application.
Business Counseling. The Spring Grove EDA staff are trained to help provide resources and guidance in business planning, obtaining financing, marketing resources, and more. You can also access the EDA’s free business toolkit to help address key issues in business startup, such as registering your business, marketing, human resources, and more. Additional (FREE!) services for new and current business owners are available through the Small Business Development Center. Check out their website here!
Tax Incentives. The EDA works closely with the City Council regarding tax incentives that can assist businesses with development. To find out if your project is eligible, contact an EDA director.
